Join This HeartCry Prayer - Every Monday, Tuesday, WEdnesday and Friday 11:30am - 1:30pm (UK time)
a. Now that we have completed the review of this book and prayed through the
issues raised, what next? What now?
b. What must happen in my own life now?
c. If the Lord tarries or takes me home sooner, what dew from my life will
impact the lives of men just as the dew from D L Moody’s life has?
d. God used D L Moody, He can use me too!
e. What posture must I take now? What must be the object of my life’s pursuit
and devotion now?
1.
A fully surrendered man.
2.
A man of prayer.
3.
A deep and practical
student of the Word
4.
A humble man.
5.
Entire freedom from the
love of money.
6.
His consuming passion
for the salvation of the lost.
7.
Definitely endued with
Power from on High.
- These were the devotions of DL Moody and resulted in a great revival in his own day.
- These were the same devotions of Jesus Christ while He was on earth! This is an expression of the only life acceptable to God, as Jesus portrayed for us to follow. This life was formed in DL Moody and it is still affecting lives today!
- By observing the life of our brother Moody, I can see that it is possible to live this only life that is acceptable to God. This gives me great hope!
- I must not stop there. I must not stop short of this life being visibly and identifiably formed in me too!
JESUS was a man fully
surrendered to His Father God. – Hebrews 10:5-7
JESUS was a man of prayer
and unbroken fellowship with the Father.- Hebrews 5:7
JESUS was a deep and
practical student of the word. - Luke 4:17-21
JESUS was a humble man. – Philippians 2:8;
Matthew 11:29
JESUS was entirely free
from the love of money. – Matthew 6:24, John 14:30
JESUS was consumed with a
passion for salvation of the lost. – Luke 19:10
JESUS was definitely
endued with power from on high! Acts 10:38
“So our
love for him grows more and more, filling us with complete confidence for the
day when he shall judge all men- for we
realise that our life in this world is actually his life lived in us.” 1 John 4:17 (J B Philips)
Ø Lord, thank You for coming to live
Your life in me. Thank You for making me Your dwelling place, Your temple, the
place where You live and express Yourself.
Ø Lord, I ask You to take up Your place
fully in me. Live Your life to the fullest in me so that on the last day I will
have confidence.
Ø Let there be no difference between
the life that I am living and the life You want to live in me. Holy Spirit, I
surrender my vessel to You. Possess me completely.
Ø Lord, cause me to be established
firmly in those devotions (Your devotions) that portray the only life
acceptable to God. Keep making me, Lord.
Ø Lord, is there yet a devotion or
aspect of Your life that is not being expressed in me? Lord, I surrender to the
working of Your Holy Spirit- work this out in my life, Lord.
Ø Lord, help me to keep following in
Your steps as Your disciple (John 8:31-32), abiding steadfastly in Your word
that makes me (John
17:17), until JESUS CAME IN THE FLESH is manifested in me.
“This priceless treasure we hold, so to speak,
in a common earthenware jar- to show that the splendid power of it belongs to
God.”- 2 Cor 4:7 (J B Philips)
“But this precious treasure- this
light and power that now shine within us- is held in a perishable container,
that is, our weak bodies. Everyone can see that the glorious power within us
must be from God and is not our own.” (Living Bible)
Ø Lord, as You live Your life in me,
help me to always remember that the glory is Yours and not mine.
Ø Lord, grant me a fresh revelation of
priceless and precious value of Your life in me so that I can assume a humble
posture as perishable container.
